FAQs

• When is Summer Camp?+
  Summer Camp '26 runs for six weeks, July 20 to August 31, 2026. The program is 100% online for the duration, ending with an optional in-person demo day in Toronto.
• Who is eligible to attend?+
  Anyone, anywhere. Students, working professionals, career switchers, makers, dropouts, retirees. If you have an idea you're excited about and can carve out time each week to work on it, you're eligible. Ten hours a week is a solid baseline. The more you put in, the more you get out.
• Is there a cost to attend?+
  No. Summer Camp is completely free. We don't take any equity or any ownership in what you create.
• Is it really free?+
  Yes, really. The program, the lectures, the community access, all of it. The only thing that costs money is travel + accommodations if you decide to come to the in-person demo day at the end. That's optional. Read more about how Learning Machines is built →
• Is this remote or IRL?+
  100% online for 6 weeks. It ends with a virtual demo day and a 1-day IRL event in Toronto. If you can come, you should! If not, all good. It's optional.
• Are my expenses covered for the IRL event?+
  No. You'd be responsible for your flight + accommodations. But don't let this hold you back. The IRL event is optional. You can still build great things no matter where you are.
• Is it part-time or full-time?+
  Part-time. The program is designed around nights and weekends, structured enough to keep you moving, flexible enough to fit around a job, school, or life. Ten hours a week is a solid starting point, but there's no ceiling. The more you invest, the stronger your project will be by demo day. Learn more about our story here.
• What if I miss a lecture? Will these be recorded?+
  Yes, all live talks and lectures are recorded, and the replays go up the same day. Watch on your own schedule.
• Can I do this with friends as a team?+
  Yes. Team up with whoever you want. There's no formal team registration. Everyone still submits their own weekly update, but you're free to collaborate on the same project.
